Well I failed to get the memo that yesterdays resupply of Wiis was an offical reenactment of the launch. Silly me thought just showing up several hours before the stores open would get my grubby little hands on a Wii. The rest of the day consisted of a fun dash accross town to see just how many places I could visit and not get a Wii. A few of the employees I talked to seemed to be pimping the ebay Wiis alot (almost as if they had one out there they wanted to sell) I did however manage to score my extra remote + nunchuck and a copy of Rayman for when the new year blesses me with a Wii.

eghad its like finding my origianl WoW copy all over again... no ebay for me this time though.

After almost a year clean and sober I reactivated my WoW account yesterday, (thanks Laura). I always said I would be back for the expansion but there was part of me that thought I could stave off the urge all together.

I had used some methadone Games DDO, Vangaurd, NWN 1 + 2, but when I lost my Vangaurd connection it was just a matter of time.

I should have seen it coming, first I had a dream about it, then the guy setting up Laura's bank account had just started 6 days ago (he bought a computer just to play it), the clincher was when both me and Laura went to get the starter pack for the WoW card game.

Robins said that she would walk with me through this, I'm sure that means that she'll just join me in my downward spiral. Maybe this time it will be diffrent, maybe I will meet new people and enjoy some of the content that has come about whilst I have been gone.

I guess all there is left to do is pull others down with me ( I'm looking at you Ryan) ^_^

I'll see you all in Azeroth

Joe Bird....Ebonhorn

PostScript: heh I just competed a ticket for someone named Tauren ^_^

Wow. And I thought I had seen everything, at least every weird thing Japan could come up with. And then I found "Princess Princess D."

Kowai desu ne... And if you aren't scared, you should be.

Yes, those are males dressed up like frilly lolitas. For those of you who are blissfully ignorant, Princess Princess D is based on the manga called Princess Princess. There is also an anime, which I've seen a few episodes of. The anime I find quite amusing, in that horrifying sort of way. Three beautiful boys at an all-boys school are forced to dress up like princesses to control the wild lusts of the male student body. (It doesn't make sense to me either, but any excuse to torture the pretty bishounen by making them wear dresses, right?) At least with the anime, they are only animated characters who are being tortured! I never imagined they would create a live action TV show in which real boys would have to don such immasculating attire. On top of that, the humor is just bizarre, in the same way that the infamous Yatta video is bizarre. I find myself unable to pull away, like watching a train wreck. Plus that extremely effeminate guy with the ringlets and silver fan is just fun to watch jump up and down and squeal at how cute the "princesses" are. o_o;; Princess Princess D is acts like it is trying to be an anime, I'm just not sure that normal human beings have the capacity to make those sorts of faces. I also resent them using a ripped off version of Tomoyasu Hotei's "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" (from Kill Bill) every time the new villain saunters down the hall, snapping his fingers.

I knew that Japan had some interesting gender identity issues, but this...augh, I don't have words, so instead I'm just going to go watch ep 3. =_=

Ryan brought us the first season of Venture Bros. That makes me happy. Must finish it soon. Also much finish Black Adder and send back so we can finally watch all of Kyou Kara Maou. And Count of Monte Cristo. Hopefully. :D

I cooked dinner tonight. I'm happy. I love my bread maker. I haven't even had it a week and I'm already almost out of flour.

Drawing class is done for the summer, which makes me sad. But tomorrow is 'karate'. They want to talk uniforms. I haven't yet told them I can't formally sign up until I finds me a jorb. Heh. I hope they don't think I'm skipping out on them. ^^;

I am in the mood to draw manga! Someone give me a pen, quick! (Oh how I want to go back to Kinokuniya and buy those teeny tiny pen nibs! :DDD). Also thinking about trying out "Manga Studio." I wonder if it's any good?

And so Anime Expo 2006 has come to a close. Which means now Joe and Ihave to stop goofing off and enter the real world. ^^;;; But it was agood 4 days. Our cosplay went pretty well, as L and Misa from DeathNote. We only did it one day though, cause it took too frickin long toget ready, and those shoes hurt my feet. hehe. I can't imagine whatEternal Sailor Moon had to go through.

My favorite parts of AX:
*The AMV contest was pretty cool. Even had a nifty live action martialarts/comedy/cosplay pre-show which was great. The two best comedy vids, fyi, were one of the Host Club entitled "I'm NOT Gay" from Avenue Q,and another one entitled "Stop Watching Anime" which included membersof Genshiken stalking Chiyo-chan of Azumanga Daioh. :D Also saw a newone from the creator of The Wizard of Ozaka, which was hilarious (butnot formally in the contest).
* The CLAMP panel was really neat. Sitting in the presence of such Great Ones was inspiring. :D
*Video rooms! ADV had a premiere which included "Nerima Daikon" and welaughed our assess off. Must pick that one up. So wrong, but soo funny.
*Premiere of the new Japanese flick "Azumi" was cool too. Enjoyed thatmovie way more than "Suicide Club" (God help me I can still picturethat woman slicing the daikon AAAAAAAHHH!!!).
* Cosplay spotting wasof course fun. The entire force of Sailor Senshi were present, inbeautiful costumes. The Mooninites were there, complete with finger andsign which read "I hope you can see this because I'm doing it as hardas I can." There were the usual 5,000 Naruto cosplayers (that isprobably an accurate number, btw). And a good many cool Bleach ones. Ithink all the shinigami were accounted for. There was an adorableHikaru from Angelic Layer. And lots of Final Fantasy Advent Childrentoo. I waved at Sephy and got a sneer in return. ^_^ There were severalother Death Noters that we spotted. And a decent amount of Ouran HostClub members. =D Today I saw a group of them that even had an ADORABLEHoney-sempai, played by someone's kid brother/sister apparently. ^_^
* Artist's Alley was neat, but I was too chicken to dwell there long. T_T Don't ask.
*One artist, a very nice girl whose name I forgot =_= gave a workshop onenvironment drawing, and though Joe and I just wandered into that one,it turned out to be really really helpful & encouraging. She wassuper nice, and telling about her own journey was encouraging. She hadvery little formal training, yet her work was beautiful. And now I alsofeel slightly less intimidated by backgrounds. =)
* JET Programpanel was cool. I think a few of us are looking to do a year in Japanlater on. I just want to bring Cleo with us ;__;
* Sitting in linewas actually not bad. We had a group to chat with, plus you could geton your DS and chat with other people waiting in line. :)

Theday ended with me making my one purchase, which turned out to be aduplicate copy of Fruits Basket manga #5 (Anyone want it?????) but aside from that and a couple of standard Robinmini-breakdowns throughout the weekend, it turned out to be quite alovely time. All you kids going to AWA, have fun! I jealous already. :)

oh. my. god. the kids in the hall were freaking hilarious. that is all. XD XD

no really, it was totally awesome. omg to the max. i took some really crappy photos during their last sketch. [blurry photos on flickr]We were sitting in the 4th row of this tiny theater, but I still couldn't get any decent shots. Lighting was too low. But anyways...

To start it off, I frickin PASSED DAVE FOLEY in the hallway going and returning from the bathroom. *squeee* And THEN Joe and I discover thatwe are sitting in front of David Krumholtz, the nerdy Jewish guy in like every movie, INCLUDING Serenity. HE SHARED A SET WITH SIMON AND MAL AND KAYLIE AND RIVER AND JAYNE AND WASH AND INARA AND ZOE.... That was surreal. XD

And then the Kids came on stage!!! And 1.5 hours of solid hilarity ensued. Ya know, I'm not sure what was funnier, their skits, or the fact that they kept forgetting their lines and cracking themselves up onstage. It was so fabulous. The kids were all a bit older than I remember, of course, and grayer and heavier, but they still have their wits about them. Highly. I loved this one sketch where Dave and Scott are waiting for a train in the subway. Dave played himself and Scott played the most annoying sort of person imaginable. "HEY! You're that guy!!! YEAAH, you're that guy! I know you!" And Dave is like "Uhm....yeah, I've been on TV a little bit..." obviously wanting the train to come already. Then Scott, wearing this goofy touk that makes his ears stick out, keeps laughing obnoxiously and saying things like "Wow, you've gained some weight. Is that your real hair???" Dave still has his hair, btw, it's just grey now. =) And still has his little boy dimples too, but anyways...So they are continuing like this, with Scott being annoying and Dave trying to make him disappear with his mind. Then Scott forgets his line and they start cracking up. Dave points out that his line is, uhm, written in graffitti on the wall, "I always wanted to kill you." Then as they are trying to stop laughing, Bruce walks onstage with this precocious little smirk and drops their script on the floor between them. Everyone is dying laughing at this point. Dave picks up the script, crumples it in a ball, and says "Ya know what I hate? People who LITTER!!" XD XD(ad-libbing). Then Scott continues with how he has always wanted to kill Dave Foley because he was the reason that News Radio was cancelled. Until he realized it was actually Phil Hartman's fault for getting killed. o_o (so terrible!) But then Dave convinces him that he isn't really Dave Foley, but a serial killer who strangles his victims with his gay little scarf. He has Scott convinced, then when Scott turns his back, Dave takes his scarf and wraps it around Scott's neck, yelling "I AM dave foley you mother f------!" XD XD XD End sketch. And um, you just had to have been there. My description sucks.

So anyways...it was frickin awesome. I believe they all were dressed in drag at some point, although I can't remember if Scott was or not. But he played a great gay man, lol. But then they all do. Actually yes, they did each play a gay man at some point, lol. Not that that's any different from normal.^^ Another favorite skit had Bruce and Scott playing a pair of gay men who were hiding their affair from their wives of 20 years, played by Dave and Kevin, of course. And I'll never forget Bruce dressed up like a little Swedish girl who could only communicate in baby talk. I don't know how he always gets those roles...but he was pretty darn cute. XD XD

Okay,I'll shut up now. =D All I have left to say is i love my husband for snagging the tix (that sold out in 4 hours!!). You are super awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! XD XD XD - Robin

I will post my pictures whenever I find my USB cord. Wish me luck. ^_^

attention world:

WE HAVE A NEW KITTY!!!!!!! XDDDDDD!!!

Her name is Cleopatra, or Cleo for short. She is a beautiful, multicolored long-hair with bright emerald-green eyes. She is so sweet and affectionate too. She loves getting petted and talked to. XD XD XD She has adapted really well so far, exploring the house and getting to know our roommates. She has pretty well assumed her role as Queen of the Nile--er--Nut House, as Laura is calling us. ^_^

many new pictures of her are up. now admire her!

We're in our new house now! wheee! XD XD XD Joe and I were sooo tired - we slept most of today, getting up only to eat lunch, then went back to bed until like 7pm. I just couldn't move. :X My legs are so sore. We've gotten the kitchen mostly put away, and I made spaghetti, which Brandon enjoyed. :D We want to go buy cat toys now but Walmarts aren't open 24-7 here. =3 ah well.

and that's one.
